This week, the global community of airport innovators, start-ups, visionary thinkers, researchers and top tech minds gathers at Rome Fiumicino Airport for AIRPORTS INNOVATE 2024. The conference, organised jointly by ACI EUROPE, ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East and ACI World, and hosted by Aeroporti di Roma, will chart the future of air travel, pooling innovative solutions, groundbreaking tools and know-how from across the globe.
A stunning forest of over 60 Christmas trees has transformed Wellington Airport into a festive wonderland, all in support of families living with cystic fibrosis (CF) in Wellington.
Kempegowda International Airport Bangalore, (BLR Airport) celebrated Karnataka Rajyotsava with grandeur, hosting a vibrant event that honored the rich heritage and cultural diversity of Karnataka. The festival took place at BLR Airport’s Terminal 2, welcoming passengers and visitors to experience the true spirit of the state.
Dubai Airports, operator of Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC), marked the UAE’s 53rd Eid Al Etihad with celebrations honouring the nation’s Founding Fathers, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
Guests enjoyed mixing an assortment of colorful ingredients—juicy fruits, crunchy nuts, and fragrant spices—all soaked in rich spirits. The event was further enriched with a gingerbread house-making workshop, bringing together guests of all ages in a joyful, interactive celebration.
The main objective of this event was to promote the Southeast Asian and Northeast Asian routes of Macau International Airport (MIA), encouraging more residents from the Greater Bay Area (GBA) to choose Macau as a transit point when travelling to those regions. The event has invited representatives from 21 units, including airlines and travel agencies currently operating in Macau, to collectively participate in the promotion.
Plaza Premium Group (PPG), the leading global airport hospitality services provider, participated in the “Three-Runway System 10km International Race” at the Hong Kong International Airport as a sponsor. The event, which took place on 17th November, was co-presented by title sponsors Airport Authority Hong Kong and Standard Chartered Hong Kong, and organized by the Hong Kong, China Association of Athletics Affiliates.
Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) representatives participated in the 18th China Air Cargo Summit in Shanghai from 19th to 21st November 2024.
ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID) was honoured to participate at the 2024 security committee of The International Federation of Air Line Pilots' Associations (IFALPA) from the 14-16 November in Fukuoka, Japan. Marking a significant milestone, this was the first time ACI APAC & MID had been invited to attend IFALPA’s annual security committee, which is held annually for commercial airline pilots to discuss aviation security-related matters.
Routes Asia 2025 – a leading aviation event for international airlines, airports and national tourism organisations will be held in Perth from the 25 – 27th March 2025.
