CAM Representatives Attend the "Greater Bay Area and Africa (Egypt) Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference" Held in Cairo, Egypt

Mr. Lei Si Tai, Executive Director of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM), attended the Greater Bay Area and Africa (Egypt) Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference held in Cairo, Egypt on 19th May 2025. The conference was jointly organized by the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government, and the Macau SAR Government, which the delegations of Mr. Wang Weizhong, the Governor of Guangdong Province, and Mr. Mohamed Abou El-Enein, Deputy Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives have attended. CAM seized this opportunity to promote Macau International Airport and advance the development of Macau civil aviation industry.

Mr. Lei Si Tai, Executive Director of CAM, and Mr. Henok Sirak, Area Manager Ethiopian Airlines Egypt, introduced the senior government officials from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau, the Memorandum of Cooperation between Ethiopian Airlines and Guangdong Hengqin Macau International Airport Logistics Company Limited that signed in Macau in April 2025. Ethiopian Airlines will be among the inaugural clients to establish operations at the Hengqin Upstream Cargo Terminal, committing dedicated capacity to support core handling operations.

Amidst the sustained growth of China in cross-border e-commerce logistics demand, Macau leverages its free port status and air traffic rights to offer efficient and fast transportation solutions for air cargo, delivering specialized logistics services for global digital supply chains. Macau International Airport is strategically developing its freighter network while constructing the Hengqin Upstream Cargo Terminal, to modernize its cargo services and keep pace with the times. These efforts aim to further accommodate the growing demand for air cargo and solidifying the Greater Bay Area’s position within global air freight market.

Mr. Leung Ka Hou, Deputy Director of Logistic and General Aviation Development Department of CAM, also attended the conference.
