Summer Vacation Early Morning Kids and Parents Runway Walk at KOBE

Kansai Airports Kobe is pleased to announce the “Summer Vacation Early Morning Kids and Parents Runway Walk” to be held on 19 July 2025 at Kobe Airport. 

Through this event, we aim to give elementary and junior high school students an opportunity to learn about airports and aircraft. Participants will get a rare chance to walk on the runway—usually off-limits to the public—and observe parked aircraft and chemical fire engines up close, in the early morning hours before operations start for the day. Staff from airlines operating at Kobe Airport and “Sorayan,” official character of Kansai Airports Group, will also join the event to make the experience more special. 

Kansai Airports Group will continue to work to bring the attraction of airports and travel to as many 
people as possible through engaging initiatives. 

Date and time: Saturday, 19 July 2025, from 4:45 to 6:30  (Reception opens at 4:15.) 
Place: Restricted area of Kobe Airport 
Eligibility: Elementary and junior high school students (Must be accompanied by a guardian) 
Admission: Free
How to apply: Fill out the application form on the Kobe Airport website.

Deadline: Thursday, 3 July (If applications exceed the capacity, participants will be selected by a draw. The results will be sent out on Wednesday, 9 July.) 

Notes: Public transportation is not available at these early hours. Participants need to arrange their transportation to the airport. - Parking fee is 150 yen/hour for those arriving by car. -

The event may be changed or cancelled due to rough weather or other reasons related to the management and operation of other facilities.
