Job Title: Senior Safety Manager

Location: Hong Kong/Hybrid 

 

Job Summary

The objective for the Senior Safety Manager is to enhance aerodrome safety in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East Regions by identifying key safety issues, establishing solutions and implementing these through consensus and collaboration with its airport safety managers, other international trade associations of the aviation industry such as pilot, airlines and air navigation services associations; and governments through ICAO.

 

Responsibilities

  • Run meetings of an international airport safety committee (the ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East Operational Safety Committee) consisting of members from airports in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions; twice a year, this involving the drafting of agenda as per the past, latest and foreseen safety situations in the region in consultation with the Committee, and the drafting of and follow up on meeting conclusions and minutes.
  • Liaise with and participate in meetings of ICAO and other international organizations in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions relevant to aerodrome safety and operations.
  • Liaise with ACI World on aerodrome safety and operations.
  • Write airport safety guidance documents under the direction of and with inputs from the international safety committee.
  • Accomplish other tasks related to airport safety and operations as anytime the Director General may assign.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years’ experience in airport operations and safety.
  • University degree in engineering, physical sciences or any other related disciplines.
  • Conversant with ICAO SARPs related to aerodrome safety and operations.
  • Preferably trained in aerodrome certification, Annex 14 and SMS.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in international and multi-cultural business and governmental environments. 
  • Able to independently conduct research and analysis, plan well in advance and execute plans.
  • Ability to speak and write in other Asian languages desirable.
  • Able to travel overseas about 10 times a year, each time usually not exceeding one week.

Director General or Head of Technical Affairs
