A total of 31 airports – 27 airports from Asia-Pacific and 4 from the Middle East- have been recognised with Airports Council International’s (ACI) Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards, which are based on most reliable global measurement and benchmarking programme for airport customer experience
Dubai Airports CEO Mr. Paul Griffiths is the latest industry leader to join an increasingly influential speaking line-up for the ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East/ ACI World Annual General Assembly, Conference and Exhibition scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 21-23 May 2023.
ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East participated at the 9th Annual Technical and Operational Meeting (ATOM) of the Cooperative Aviation Security Programme – Asia Pacific (CASP-AP) in Vientiane, Laos from 15-16 February 2024, hosted by the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) of Laos.
As part of the initial speaker announcement, we have assembled some of the most influential figures from the aviation industry. Dr. Kerati Kijmanawat, President of Airports of Thailand Plc, Mr. Fred Lam, CEO of Airport Authority Hong Kong, Armando Bruni, CEO & Managing Director of SEA Airports of Milan, and Lorie Argus, CEO of Australia Pacific Airports, will be sharing their insights and expertise. Over the years, ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East has been playing an active role in the area of security and facilitation in the Middle East region.
ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East has added two new handbooks to its library of safety guidelines. The first is on the safety of airfield maintenance works and the second on the safety of the use of unmanned aircraft systems, or commonly known as “drones” at the airport.
ACI Aisa-Pacific & Middle East have embarked on a number of research initiatives that shed light on the significance of air connectivity in driving economic and social development, identified key factors that influence changes in air connectivity, and proposed recommendations to enhance airport connectivity and advocate for greater liberalisation.
ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East had the privilege to be invited by the Airport Authority Hong Kong to conduct a briefing session on 10 January 2024 to share the latest developments of One-stop Security (OSS) in the Asia-Pacific region and other parts of the world. The session was attended by around 30 participants from both the Airport Authority Hong Kong and the Aviation Security Company Limited (AVSECO).
The 20th ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East Economics Committee (the Committee) met in Muscat, Oman between 19 and 20 November 2023.
An ACI World's Airport Excellence Program (APEX) APEX in Security review was successfully conducted at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) from 27 November to 1 December, hosted by Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV). It was the first ever APEX review conducted in the country.
