KIX Suitcase Reuse Service to Begin

  • 01 Aug 2018

Kansai Airports, in collaboration with ORIX Eco Services Corporation, JAL ABC, Inc. and Konoike Air Port Service Co., Ltd., will launch a new service to accept unwanted suitcases from travelers flying through Kansai International Airport (KIX), beginning on August 6, 2018.

The new service is designed to collect used suitcases from passengers for free at baggage storage counters on the fourth floor of KIX Terminal 1 and reuse them after checking reusability.

The introduction of the new service was determined to ensure passenger safety and security as well as to utilize resources more efficiently amid a growing number of suitcases being left behind by travelers at the airport. Information about the service will be communicated through multi-language posters and social media to gain publicity for the service.

Kansai Airports will make continued efforts to offer passengers a new travel experience in a more comfortable and pleasant airport environment.
