Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific and Middle East (ACI APAC & MID) announced the Airport Connectivity Report at the launch of its Middle East office in Riyadh. Developed in partnership with PwC, the Airport Connectivity Report measures passengers’ ability to access the global air transport network, capturing both direct and indirect routes, and also factoring in the quality of service of each connection, such as destination choice, service frequency, onward connectivity and price, contributing to the passenger experience. The report covers a sample of 100 airports that accounts for almost 60% of the combined passenger traffic in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East in 2019.
The ACI Asia-Pacific, a trade association representing 623 airports from 47 countries/ territories, has been rebranded as ACI Asia-Pacific and Middle East (ACI APAC & MID) following the launch of its new office in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
ACI Asia-Pacific has launched an exciting new initiative called "Airport Day," tailored to the needs of Pacific Island Airports. Hosted by Airport Authority Cook Islands, the Airport Day aims to assist airport members in Pacific Island enhance their capacity on various topics of interest to them. It serves as a valuable tool for airports seeking to expand their knowledge on airport-related matters, foster better communication with national and local governments, and engage with the communities in their respective areas of influence.

ACI Asia-Pacific has been playing an active role in representing and promoting airports’ interests through ICAO in the area of aviation security. The 11th ICAO Asia & Pacific Regional Aviation Security Coordination Forum (RASCF-APAC/11) was held in Bangkok, Thailand from 26-27 July, 2023. As an annual regional security forum, hosted by ICAO, the event was attended by over 70 aviation security experts from state regulators and industry associations from across Asia-Pacific region.

Sustainability and its implications on human resources were the central topic of discussion at the recent ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Human Resources Committee meeting in Kobe, Japan. During the two-day meeting, the committee discussed how sustainability can be integrated into human resources policies and practices, as well as various workforce-related challenges commonly faced by airports after the pandemic.

The 17th Meeting of ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Environment Committee was successfully convened in Kobe, Japan on 14-15 May 2023. The meeting was attended by over 35 environmental sustainability experts from airports and World business Partners in Asia-Pacific and Middle East region.
Airport security experts extensively deliberated on human resource challenges and cybersecurity threats at the 30th ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Aviation Security Committee (RASC) meeting held recently in Osaka, Japan. The meeting was attended by 35 security experts from airports in the region.
