ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East supports the implementation of ICAO Global Security Plan

ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East had the honor of participating in the Regional Awareness Seminar on the Global Aviation Security Plan (GASeP), held from June 15-16 in Cairo, Egypt, hosted by the ICAO MID Office. The seminar was attended by over 30 representatives from state regulators across the Middle East.

Mr. Gary Leung, Senior Manager of Security & Facilitation at ACI APAC & MID, presented ACI's initiatives and the efforts of airports to meet the recommendations outlined in the ICAO GASeP.

The GASeP serves as a global strategic framework guiding states and the aviation industry in enhancing security measures. The second edition, published in June 2024, emphasises six priority areas for aviation security:

• Priority area 1: Enhance risk awareness and response 
• Priority area 2: Maintain a strong and effective security culture 
• Priority area 3: Develop and promote the role of human factors
• Priority area 4: Improve technological and resources and foster innovation
• Priority area 5: Improve oversight and quality assurance
• Priority area: 6: Increase cooperation and support

ACI APAC & MID remain committed to assisting member airports in improving aviation security, in alignment with the strategic guidance provided by the GASeP.
