Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), an association representing 624 airports, delivered two important presentations at the ICAO Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for Middle East region in Riyadh, highlighting the critical need for enhancing air connectivity and seamlessly integrating Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) into the current air transportation framework.
ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East had the privilege to be invited to speak at the 2024 ICN Global Aviation Security Seminar on 5 September in Incheon, Republic of Korea.
GIAA also was recognized as the first airport in the region to receive approval of its Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-required Safety Management System (SMS) Implementation Plan, which when fully implemented, will help airports further foster a positive safety culture through improved detection and correction of safety concerns.
The celebration is in line with the directive from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), under the Ministry of Civil Aviation to stakeholders in the aviation industry to reinforce the idea that aviation security is everyone’s concern. The celebration which consists of a series of activities, underscores the tag line – See It, Say It, Secure It. The theme this year is "Enhancing Passenger Security through Effective Divestment."
ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East delivered a presentation at the 12th ICAO Asia & Pacific Regional Aviation Security Coordination Forum (RASCF-APAC/12), emphasising the importance of the concept of security-by-design, which refers to the integration of security considerations in the design and drawing phase of any new or renovating airport infrastructure. The Forum was held in Manila, Philippines from 25-26 July.
Mangaluru International Airport, managed by Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, the flagship company of the globally diversified Adani Group, on Monday further strengthened the airport’s security infrastructure with the addition of advanced equipment provided to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

Mangaluru International Airport in its continued quest for safe operations, conducted Mangalam – Tabletop Exercise 2024 on May 28. This exercise was a precursor to the full-scale aerodrome emergency exercise (FSAEE) that will be held in November 2024. The airport periodically conducts the tabletop and FSAEE as mandated by the civil aviation sector regulator – DGCA and as per the guidance from the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA).
