ACI APAC & MID Shared Airports’ security priorities at Regional Airline Meeting

  • 2025-05-01

ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID) was honoured to be invited as a guest speaker for the 41st Security Committee Meeting of Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) on 23 April in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. AAPA is the regional industry association for the airlines in the Asia-Pacific region, with members including Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Singapore Airlines and others.

This was the first time ACI APAC & MID had been invited to attend the AAPA’s security committee meeting, which is a regular meeting for airline security professionals to discuss aviation security-related matters.

ACI APAC & MID delivered a presentation highlighting some of the top security priorities of airports in the region, including the urgent need to increase compliance to ICAO Annex 17 regulations, improving operational efficiency to cope with the rising demand of passenger traffic and addressing emerging security threats against airports.

The presentation sparked a productive discussion on ways ACI APAC & MID and AAPA can collaborate to further advocate topics that are of common intertest to both airports and airlines at the regional level.

The committee expressed great appreciation for ACI APAC & MID's participation and commended the valuable insights shared from an airport perspective.
