Macau International Airport commissions new aircraft rescue fire fighting vehicle to enhance overall firefighting and rescue efficiency

On 23rd July 2025, Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) held a delivery ceremony for new aircraft rescue fire fighting vehicle, marking a significant milestone in the fire rescue capabilities of the airport. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Ma Iao Hang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CAM, along with Mr. Wong Kin, the Commissioner of the Fire Services Bureau (CB), as well as some Executive Committee members of CAM and Chiefs of relevant departments of the Fire Services Bureau. This demonstrated the unwavering commitment of Macau International Airport (MIA) dedicating to passenger safety.

 

During the ceremony, Chairman Ma expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Fire Services Bureau for the support and contributions to airport operations over the three decades. He highlighted that the precise oversight of safety systems of the Fire Services Bureau, particularly Commissioner Wong in-depth understanding of airport firefighting and closely attention, which has provided professional guidance for equipment upgrade of the Airport Division, ensuring comprehensive configuration of both software and hardware facilities.

 

The newly delivered aircraft rescue fire fighting vehicle demonstrates significant improvements in engine power, firefighting agent capacity, and rescue equipment performance compared to previous models. The enhancement not only optimizes critical efficiency but also substantially strengthens the emergency response capabilities of the Airport Division, ensuring compliance with the stringent standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

 

 

Subsequent to the delivery ceremony, a meeting was held where Commissioner Wong expressed his appreciation for the airport’s ongoing support and both parties engaged in in-depth discussions regarding future enhancements in facilities and training programs. Macau International Airport is always committed to elevating safety standards and service quality while fostering close cooperation and communication with the Fire Services Bureau. Both parties routinely evaluate advanced international firefighting and rescue equipment and technologies, systematically updating resources in alignment with the airport operational needs. This strategic initiative aims to bolster fire safety and emergency preparedness, thereby establishing a safer and more reliable aviation gateway for all travellers.
