Airfares in Asia-Pacific and Middle East surged as nations emerged from pandemic-related restrictions, according to the Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific’s latest Airport Industry Outlook.
Narita International Airport Corporation (NAA) (President & CEO: Mr. Akihiko Tamura) and Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Gas) (Representative Corporate Executive Officer, President and CEO: Mr. Takashi Uchida) have established Green Energy Frontier Co., Ltd. to supply Narita International Airport with its energy requirements. The new company will begin operating on April 1, 2023.
Summer (aviation) schedule 2023 is well and truly on across India from March 26. Mangaluru International Airport is fully geared to play its part in aiding this schedule. This can be gauged from the fact that MIA up to May 31 will handle 234 weekly air traffic movements (ATMs) in the earlier part of the schedule that ends on October 28. In the latter part of the schedule from June 1, MIA will handle 242 ATMs each week.

Sharjah Airport Authority hosted its annual ceremony at Al Jawaher Reception and Convention to commemorate its achievements in 2022 and to honour the employees that contributed to this success. Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) in a single-minded focus of achieving its goal of environmental sustainability, has added two more electric vehicles (EVs) to its vehicle pool for the current fiscal. The airport in August 2022 had initiated its journey towards sustainability by procuring two EVs for its routine operations and has added four more EVs since.
Auckland Airport is underway with its biggest redevelopment since the airport opened in 1966 with a brand-new domestic terminal to be fully integrated into the international terminal. “This is a major investment for Auckland Airport, one which we have been working towards for many years,” said Patrick Strange, Auckland Airport’s Chair.
The Maldives Airports Company (MACL), the operator of Velana International Airport (VIA), participated in the Fifth Meeting of the Asia/Pacific Aerodrome Assistance Working Group of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The working group meeting was held from March 13–16, 2023, at the Kurumba resort, hosted by the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA).
