The Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), a trade group for 623 airports, announced the appointment of two new members to its Board.
Dr. Kerati Kijmanawat, President of AOT said, AOT has brought Common Use Passenger Processing System (CUPPS) into use at its 6 international airports under its supervision, namely Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Mueang International Airport, Chiang Mai International Airport, Mae-Fah Luang Chiang Rai International Airport, Phuket International Airport and Hat Yai International Airport.
The ACI World Expert Group on Slots (EGS) convened in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on 11 and 12 November 2023. This gathering of industry leaders was dedicated to exploring a multitude of crucial topics related to slot allocation. Among the top priorities was determining the most effective approach for incorporating the latest additions to the Worldwide Airport Slot Guidelines (WASG), ensuring that global aviation operates smoothly and efficiently.

Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific and Middle East (ACI APAC & MID) announced the Airport Connectivity Report at the launch of its Middle East office in Riyadh. Developed in partnership with PwC, the Airport Connectivity Report measures passengers’ ability to access the global air transport network, capturing both direct and indirect routes, and also factoring in the quality of service of each connection, such as destination choice, service frequency, onward connectivity and price, contributing to the passenger experience. The report covers a sample of 100 airports that accounts for almost 60% of the combined passenger traffic in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East in 2019.
As pandemic-related travel restrictions were lifted in Hong Kong during the year, passenger numbers at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) rebounded significantly to 12.4 million representing more than seven times year-on-year increase.
On 29th June 2023, Mr. Ma Iao Hang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM), Mr. Chan Weng Hong, Chairman of the Executive Committee of CAM and three Executive Directors, Mr. Kan Cheok Kuan, Mr. Lei Si Tai and Mr. Leung Henry Yee Hang etc., received Mr. Nie Xinping, Director of the Hengqin Office of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government, Deputy Director of the Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin and his delegation, to introduce the establishment of the Macau International Airport (MIA) Check-in Centre on the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the operation process of MIA cargo terminal. A meeting was also held to explore the development opportunities between the two regions and jointly promote the integrated development of Hengqin and Macau.
