Airfares in Asia-Pacific and Middle East surged as nations emerged from pandemic-related restrictions, according to the Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific’s latest Airport Industry Outlook.
ACI Asia-Pacific today announced that Incheon International Airport in Seoul, Korea is the first airport in the Asia-Pacific region to be accredited under the ACI Airport Health Accreditation programme.
Macau International Airport (MFM) registered in 2019 a 13% increase in its Passenger overall satisfaction against previous year, scoring 4.23 (out of 5) in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) of Airport Council International (ACI).
Today Melbourne Airport celebrates 50 years of connecting Melbourne to the world, since the airport’s official opening on 1 July 1970. Adelaide Airport is set to reduce potable water consumption in its main terminal by 50 per cent – or 10 million litres a year - with the connection of cooling towers to the airport’s stormwater scheme. As part of the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2020, Greg Fordham was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for his outstanding service to the aviation transport industry. The Order of Australia recognises citizens who have demonstrated excellence, achievement, and service to the nation or humanity.
ACI Asia-Pacific has announced the results of the region’s annual Green Airports Recognition 2020. Taoyuan International Airport (Taoyuan City, Chinese Taipei), Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (Hyderabad, India) and Kaohsiung International Airport (Kaohsiung City, Chinese Taipei) received the highest Platinum recognition for their efforts in water management.

ACI Asia-Pacific congratulates the winners of this year’s Airport Service Quality awards. The largest group of winning airports are from Asia-Pacific and the Middle East with a total of twenty-nine airports receiving recognition for their outstanding customer service excellence.
