Proof of Concept of an Aircraft Security System at KIX

  • 2023-12-15

For aircraft security with higher efficiency and fewer personnel

Kansai Airports is pleased to announce that Kansai Airports and its partner SECOM will carry out a  proof of concept of an aircraft security system with surveillance cameras at Kansai International Airport (KIX) from December 18, 2023.

Aircraft security is to deter unauthorized intervention to a parked aircraft by a suspicious person. The security system in this proof of concept will employ a combination of a remote monitoring system using surveillance cameras and on-site response, with AI analysis technology as an additional function for video surveillance. This system allows aircraft security to be more sophisticated and efficient with the need for fewer human resources.

Kansai Airports Group will continue to actively engage itself with proof of concept to introduce cutting-edge technologies to further enhance the convenience of the airports and to provide safe, secure, comfortable and new travel experiences.
