Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) today announced the air traffic figures of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) for October 2022. During the month, passenger throughput at HKIA reached 755,000, representing a surge of 447.9% over the same period last year. Passenger volume in October 2022 returned to around 13% of pre-pandemic levels. Cargo throughput and flight movements declined year on year by 23.9% and 10.2% to 351,000 tonnes and 12,575, respectively.

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) – Hong Kong’s largest independent handler – has successfully obtained accreditation under IATA’s CEIV Lithium Batteries (Li-batt) standard. Hactl now holds all four IATA CEIV accreditations (Pharma, Fresh, Live Animals, Li-batt).
Tibah Airports Operation Co, the operator of Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah (PMIA), announced that PMIA has received the certificate of Level 2 - Reduction of the Airport Carbon Accreditation Programme from the Airports Council International (ACI), making PMIA the first airport to achieve this level in Saudi Arabia.
The “2022 Asian Freight, Logistics & Supply Chain Awards (AFLAS)” organized by Asia Cargo News was held in Hong Kong on September. Macau International Airport (MIA) was elected as the winner of the “Best Airport - Asia” award (under 1m tones) for 5 consecutive years since 2018.
Delhi Airport, managed by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), a GMR Airports Infrastructure Limited-led consortium, has received the prestigious National Award for Excellence in Energy Management by CII-Green Business Centre (GBC). It has also received National Energy Leader Award for the year 2021.
Airport International Group held its Environment, Social, Health and Safety (ESHS) Committee meeting on 21 September 2022 - under the patronage of Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport, H.E. Eng. Wesam Tahtamouni - and in the presence of Madaba Mayor, Aref Rawajeeh, and representatives from the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), Civil Defense Directorate and companies working at Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA). Chaired by Airport International Group CEO, Nicolas Claude, the meeting addressed several relevant topics, with particular emphasis on QAIA’s carbon management and accreditation.
