Airport International Group revealed that Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed 5,139,090 passengers (PAX) during the first eight months of 2022 - indicating a 103.9% surge and 16.6% decline against 2021 and 2019 figures, respectively. Moreover, QAIA recorded 45,849 aircraft movements (ACM), marking a 74.5% increase and 15.9% decrease compared to 2021 and 2019 figures, respectively. QAIA also handled 40,378 tons of cargo, which were 13.9% higher and 39.6% lower than the figures registered in 2021 and 2019, respectively.
GMR Aviation Academy, the training and education arm of GMR Airports Ltd - a subsidiary of GMR Infrastructure Limited, today announced its strategic alliance with Aptech Aviation Academy to empower aspiring aviation students with industry-relevant skillsets and training.

Almost 3 million passengers passed through Bahrain International Airport (BIA) during the first half of 2022, a meeting by Bahrain Airport Company’s (BAC) Airport Facilitation Committee heard. The committee, which convened for its first face to face gathering since the start of the pandemic, is tasked with reviewing the operational facilitation of passengers, crew, and baggage at Bahrain International Airport (BIA) as per what was laid down by the Airport Facilitation Program and in line with the directions received from the BCAA.

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) – Hong Kong’s largest independent handler – has signed an agreement to purchase Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) from CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP Power) equating to 45.9 gigawatt hours of power generated from renewable energy sources. The move is the latest step in Hactl’s Green Terminal sustainability programme.
