Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID) and the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, establishing a formal framework for collaboration between the region’s airport and air traffic management (ATM) communities.
Mr. Nagy Abu Zeid, Vice President Corporate Planning, Oman Airports, has been re-elected as the Chair of the ACI Asia-Pacific Economics Committee for the second successive term, while Mr. François Southarewsky, Chief Commercial Officer Aero Kansai Airports, has been unanimously elected a vice chair during the 18th Committee meeting in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia between 11 & 12 December, 2022.
ACI Asia-Pacific participated in the European Aviation Climate Change Adaptation Working Group meeting on 17 January, 2023. The event saw participation of experts in the field of environment, climate change and technical experts from airport operations.
The 15th meeting of the ICAO Collaborative Arrangement for the Prevention and Management of Public Health Events in Civil Aviation - Asia Pacific (CAPSCA-AP/15) was held from 14-16 December 2022 in Manila, Philippines. The meeting was attended by over 50 medical and civil aviation professionals from States and industry associations from the Asia-Pacific region.
Welcoming the Government of China’s decision to reopen border with quarantine-free travel, Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific reiterated its calls for consistent and harmonised approach from the Governments in response measures towards managing inbound travel.
The 34th Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific Regional Board Meeting was held in Muscat on 6th December 2022. As the epidemic development and immigration policies vary between different countries, both in-person and virtual meeting was held at the same time. The 7th Europe-Asia Pacific Aviation Security Forum, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Transport of Singapore and European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), was held in Singapore from 29-30 November 2022.
