Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), the trade association representing over 600 airports, made strong recommendations at the 60th ICAO Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for Asia and Pacific regions in Sendai, Japan recently. The Members of the Conference endorsed the ACI APAC & MID’s recommendations and encouraged States to take appropriate steps for implementation.

Over the years, airports have been engaging with local governments, aviation authorities and other stakeholders to explore solutions for aircraft noise management. ACI Asia-Pacific, as one of the key stakeholders in the industry, has been helping its members to address aircraft noise.
The 54th meeting of ACI World Security Standing Committee (WSSC/54) was held in Montréal from 25 - 26 May. The two-day meeting rallied over 20 security professionals from airports, World Business Partners and staff from ACI regional offices. Global security experts from ICAO, IATA and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) were invited as guest speakers in the respective sessions of the meeting.
The 17th ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Board & General Assembly concluded successfully-- our first in-person meeting in more than two years since the pandemic broke out.
