Ras Al Khaimah International Airport Welcomes Emirates Airlines’ Airbus 380

  • 2022-03-10

Ras Al Khaimah International Airport entered into a partnership agreement with Emirates Airlines to facilitate Emirates Airlines’ training flights!! This offers the UAE carrier an opportunity to utilise the airport’s runway to facilitate around 200 estimated touch-and-go maneuvers per month as part of the pilots’ training.

RAK Airport’s C.E.O., Atanasios Titonis, is delighted with this partnership highlighting that “seeing Emirates tail and A380 aircraft at our airport for the first time in the airport’s history demonstrates that we have many areas of unexplored potential for diversification of the business model, offering a mix of opportunities for the existing customers to expand their businesses as well as for the new customers to consider investing in our airport.

Our vision is to become a smart boutique one-stop-shop airport that provides a full range of facilities and services to satisfy the needs of the entire aviation industry, from scheduled passenger and cargo operation to tourist charter flights, FBO and business aviation, MRO, flight training academy, and a variety of other supporting functions.”

RAK Airport has initiated a two-phase expansion project through the airport master plan development that is already underway. The first phase is a rejuvenation of the existing terminal building by enhancing the facility to cater to the increase in passenger traffic while simultaneously working on the second phase; designing a brand-new smart terminal.
