Mumbaikars Come Together to Raise Awareness against Honking

GVK Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), the company that manages the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) on Wednesday, the 15th of August, organized a unique and unconventional initiative – a WALKATHON, where more than 1000 participants’ including employees of MIAL, CISF, Immigration, Customs, Mumbai Duty Free, KLM –Royal Dutch Airlines, Tresmode, Sky Gourmet with their friends and families walked the talk in support  of CII Yi’s Horn Not Ok Please campaign. The cartoon characters like Doraemon, Shinchan & Garfield engaged with the crowd to spread awareness on no honking.

 

Every year, ‘The Independence Day’ celebration at the airport is witnessed by thousands of people and hence considered a ground to spread important message in the interest of public, at large. The same was conveyed in the form of skits and dance performances/flash mobs to inform and educate pubic about the ill effects of honking and the need and ways to curb it. Message boards, were put across on trivia about the harmful effects of honking and the ways to reduce it, for a better future.
