Harmonised standards and policies are key for the development of Advance Air Mobility
- 2025-11-03

ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), representing over 600 airports, highlighted the importance of innovation and sustainability in shaping the future of aviation at the International Conference on Green Aviation (ICGA), held in Xi’an, China, from 21 to 24 October 2025.
Co-organised by the International Association for Green Aviation (IAGA) and the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics (CSAA), the conference served as a platform for over 500 delegates representing international organisations, research institutes, government authorities, airports, airlines, and technology providers.
The event focused on advancing collaboration and research to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ICAO’s Long-Term Global Aspirational Goal of achieving net-zero CO₂ emissions by 2050.

Representing ACI APAC & MID, Mr. Philip Kwok, Senior Manager-Economics, shared insights on how innovation and sustainability drive the evolution of the aviation industry. He highlighted the growing investments in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), an innovative transportation technology offering new dimensions of connectivity and efficiency.
Mr. Kwok emphasised the need for harmonised standards, certifications, and policy frameworks to ensure the highest levels of safety and security, while promoting fair market access and competition.
He further called for continuous and inclusive dialogue among stakeholders to foster pragmatic collaboration in developing safe, secure, efficient, and sustainable mobility solutions for all.
ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East continues to support the growth of Advanced Air Mobility as a key part of the future aviation ecosystem. By integrating AAM into the airport’s operational and commercial strategies will pave way for a smarter, greener, and more connected future for air transport.
