Airport Authority Appoints New Executive Director, Airport Operations

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) today announced the appointment of Vivian Cheung as Executive Director, Airport Operations, with effect from 1 December 2019. She succeeds Ng Chi-kee, who will retire on the same day. Reporting to the AA’s Chief Executive Officer, Fred Lam, Mrs Cheung will be a key member of the senior management team.

 

Mrs Cheung will lead the Airport Management Division to oversee airport operations and aviation development, working closely with the airport community to support the development of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). She was appointed as Deputy Director, Airport Operations in 2014 and Deputy Director, Aviation Development in 2018.

Mr Lam remarked, “I would like to thank Mr Ng for his unfailing leadership and outstanding contributions to the AA and the airport community over the past 23 years. With his professional knowledge, rich experience and invaluable dedication, HKIA has sailed through challenges of multiple scales and excelled as an internationally recognised world-class airport.”

 

“I would also like to congratulate Vivian on her new role. Vivian has served the AA for more than 27 years, during which she has taken up major roles in various aspects of airport operation and development, including terminal operations, apron and airlines coordination, as well as Mainland business. I am confident that she will continue to bring her invaluable professionalism to the team and make a significant contribution to the airport’s continuous development,” Mr Lam added.

 

Mrs Cheung is currently a Director of Hong Kong – Zhuhai Airport Management Company Limited and Vice Chairman of Shanghai Hong Kong Airport Management Company Limited. Active in community service, she is a member of the Liaison Panel for Accreditation of Vocational and Professional Education and Training of Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and a member of Board of Directors of Support! International Foundation.

 

Mrs Cheung holds a Master of Business Administration from Southern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from State University of New York.
