Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), the trade association representing over 600 airports, made strong recommendations at the 60th ICAO Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for Asia and Pacific regions in Sendai, Japan recently. The Members of the Conference endorsed the ACI APAC & MID’s recommendations and encouraged States to take appropriate steps for implementation.

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) saw continued growth in all three traffic categories in March 2019. Passenger volume rose by 0.3% to 6.4 million compared to the same month last year, while flight movements increased by 1.3% to 36,735. To improve on operational efficiency at Velana International Airport (VIA), a new Aerodrome & Ground Aids Building was opened on 11th April 2019.
