Narita Airport is a major gateway for trade that supports Japan’s industrial and economic activities as well as the daily lives of its people, and also serves as a strategic logistics hub
handling critical goods for Japan and the world.

The development plan for the New Cargo Area—part of the New Narita Airport Project—aims to ensure that Narita Airport maintains these functions, which are critical for international
competitiveness and economic security, well into the future, and to establish the airport as a “Cargo Hub for East Asia” that contributes to the development of the international air cargo
network.

In the current “New Narita Airport Development Plan: Master Planning for the New Cargo Area”, we will examine the basic vision and concept of operations, as well as the overall
master plan and layout plan for the new cargo area, focusing on related facilities such as cargo warehouses and cargo forwarder facilities.

In carrying out this project, we will utilize the “Cargo Community Consultation Group for the New Narita Airport”, established on January 20 of this year, and incorporate the opinions of
all stakeholders. We will develop a plan for the new cargo area that resolves current challenges while realizing world-class efficiency and productivity and embodying strategic
directions such as capturing transshipment demand among the three countries.

Furthermore, by designating the New Cargo Area and its adjacent zones as a single comprehensive bonded zone and planning for integrated operations, we will advance the creation of a sustainable international logistics hub that delivers high value to all shippers and operators.
