ITAMI to Install the Largest Number of EV Chargers in Japan Contributing to an Energy Sustainable Society

  • 2023-08-01

Kansai Airports is delighted to announce that 184 EV charging outlets will be installed in the North Parking Structure 1 and South Parking Structure at Osaka International Airport (ITAMI). The demand for EV chargers is expected to be even stronger.

Currently, the existing charging facility consists of two quick EV chargers, limiting the availability of the charging stations. With this large-scale installation, we will have the largest* EV charging facilities of any airport in Japan. This project is eligible for the subsidy program provided by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry to support the increase of charging facilities set as part of the “Subsidies for Promoting
the Introduction of Clean Energy Vehicles and Infrastructure”. The service is scheduled to start in early 2024.
Kansai Airports Group will keep proactively adopting initiatives to reduce environmental impact and contribute to realizing a sustainable society.
