Fifteen Airlines to relocate check‑in counters at HKIA to Terminal 2 from 27 May
- 2026-03-27
Fifteen airlines primarily operating regional routes, including the three home-based carriers: Hong Kong Express, Hong Kong Airlines and Greater Bay Airlines, will relocate their check-in counters at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) from Terminal 1 (T1) to Terminal 2 (T2) in phases from 27 May 2026, when T2 passenger departure facilities begin operation. The whole relocation will be completed on 10 June 2026, ahead of the summer travel season.
T2 is accessible by different means of public transport. As in T1, T2 departures level is seamlessly connected to the Airport Express platform, with train doors opening on both sides to serve both terminal buildings. 29 bus routes will stop at the T2 departures level. T2 is also directly connected via a short covered walkway to Car Park 3, a new six-storey facility with over 1,000 parking spaces, which has already been opened to the public.
To ensure smooth relocation and operations at T2, Airport Authority Hong Kong has undertaken comprehensive preparations and will maintain close communication with the relevant airlines, business partners and stakeholders. Other passenger facilities of T2 will be commissioned in accordance with passenger traffic demand.
Please refer to the notice on HKIA website for the commencement details for the airlines’ check-in services in T2: https://hkia.me/4sh4NgR.
