CAM Representatives Visited the Royal Malaysian Customs Department and the Malay Chambers of Commerce Malaysia

Representatives of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) were invited to Sabah, Malaysia from 12th to 14th October 2023, together with members of the air logistics industry in Macau, to visit the Royal Malaysian Customs Department of Kota Kinabalu Sabah Branch, the Malay Chambers of Commerce Malaysia (MCCM) and Kota Kinabalu International Airport Cargo Section, getting to know the cargo operation process in Sabah and jointly explore the opportunities of air cargo development between two places.

 

CAM representatives exchanged views with the MCCM representatives and shared the latest market developments in the air cargo business at Macau International Airport (MIA). The MCCM representatives also shared the local business information and discussed the feasibility of using Macau as a transit point to transship cargo to the Mainland of China with freighter. With this exchange opportunity, CAM and MCCM expected that to engage in regular visits in the future to maintain the cooperative relationship and explore cargo resources.

 

At present, MCCM set up 15 offices in Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur, Sabah, Putrajaya and Labuan etc., connecting the entire business community by providing services, information and guidance to chambers members for facilitate the development of business networks, foster entrepreneur development and provide business guidance between communities, including access to local airline resources, freight forwarding logistics and cargo sources.

 

In recent months, freight forwarders have successfully conducted trail runs of transiting of fresh seafood to the Mainland of China through Macau. CAM hopes to continue cooperating and strengthening communication and collaboration with the Malay Chambers of Commerce, to discover more high-quality local fresh products to enter the market in the Mainland of China via Macau.
