ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID) reaffirmed its commitment to promoting aviation environmental sustainability. At the Sustainable Aviation webinar, jointly organised by Airports Council International (ACI), Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA) & Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), Mr. Ken Lau, Head, Sustainability at ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East, highlighted the Regional Environment Committee’s dedication to advancing sustainability priorities through data-driven analysis and member airport surveys.

The objective of the webinar was to provide valuable insights into the aviation industry’s best practices and initiatives to support sector’s decarbonisation efforts. In achieving the objective,

Mr. Lau discussed key programs such as Green Airports Recognition and Airport Carbon Accreditation, and he introduced potential future initiatives to help airports develop net-zero roadmaps and climate resilience planning.

Mr. Lau encouraged participants to enroll in the Climate Change and Aviation Sustainability course, scheduled for October 14-18, 2024, and jointly organised by ACI and CAAS.

Together with Ms. Chua Sin Ying of Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore who presented an overview of Singapore Sustainable Air Hub Blueprint, the seminar saw participation of 80 delegates with discussions revolving on challenges and solutions to aviation sustainability through collaboration to encourage SAF update and the importance of capacity building.
