19^th Virtual Meeting of ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East Regional Environment Committee

The 19^th Virtual Meeting of the ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East Regional Environment Committee was successfully convened on 8 October 2025. The meeting was attended by 55 environmental sustainability experts from airports across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East region.

The meeting highlights included keynote presentations from Environmental Minds on Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) programme developments and Climeworks on carbon dioxide removal technologies for net-zero aviation. New members from Narita International Airport, Airports Authority of India, and Kansai Airports presented their ambitious environmental initiatives, showcasing renewable energy adoption, electrification strategies, and innovative blue carbon projects.
An interactive afternoon session featured discussions on the Climate Change Adaptation Study progress, with members endorsing the regional relevance of climate risk assessment tools currently being piloted across selected airports.

Other issues discussed included the theme selection for Green Airports Recognition 2026, updates on the Net Zero Roadmap project pilot implementations, and outcomes from the 42^nd ICAO Assembly including CAEP and CORSIA developments. The Committee supported initiatives to assist smaller airports through capacity-building programs and enhanced access to carbon accreditation.
The Committee is informed that the 20^th REC Meeting will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 9-12 May 2026, back-to-back with the Regional Assembly.
