Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), the trade association representing over 600 airports, made strong recommendations at the 60th ICAO Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for Asia and Pacific regions in Sendai, Japan recently. The Members of the Conference endorsed the ACI APAC & MID’s recommendations and encouraged States to take appropriate steps for implementation.
Mangaluru International Airport handled a total of 202,892 passengers, comprising 138,902 domestic and 63,990 international travelers, an average of 6,500 passengers per day in October 2024. The number of passengers handled in October 2024 is an improvement over the 189,247 passengers processed in September 2024. King Abdulaziz International Airport welcomed the first direct British Airways flights arriving from Heathrow Airport in London. The airline has commenced operations between the two airports with a frequency of six flights per week, providing passengers with additional travel options between the two destinations.
The Three-runway System (3RS) at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) is targeted to be commissioned on 28 November 2024. After the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) has acquired the aerodrome licence and the 3RS has been commissioned, all three runways will be operating under the 3RS.
