Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), the leading trade association representing over 600 airports across 45 countries and territories, has contributed US$50,000 to Airlink, a disaster logistics non-profit organisation, to support humanitarian relief efforts in Myanmar following the recent devastating earthquake.
The number of non-Japanese passengers reached a record high of 1.67 million* in a single month, the highest since the airport’s opening. Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) today released Hong Kong International Airport’s (HKIA) air traffic statistics for July 2024. During the month, HKIA handled around 4.8 million passengers, representing a 24.7% year-on-year growth, while cargo throughput was up 14.6% to 414,000 tonnes in July. Flight movements increased to 31,100, up 29.3% compared to July 2023.
Queenstown Airport has released its financial report for the 12 months to 30 June 2024, which shows a strong operating performance.
Airport International Group announced that Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed 952,177 passengers (PAX) in July 2024, marking a 7.5% decline as opposed to 2023. During the same month, QAIA registered 7,592 aircraft movements (ACM) and handled 6,924 tons of cargo, down 6.8% and up 32.1%, respectively, against the previous year.
Shanghai Airports witnessed a new record high of one-day traffic both in aircraft movement and passenger throughput on August 11, 2024. The two airports in Shanghai accommodated totally 2,386 flights on one single day while Pudong International Airport handled 1,597 flights and Hongqiao International Airport 789 flights. The passenger traffic also marked a peak of 397,000 persons in a day with 254,000 at Pudong Airport and 143,000 at Hongqiao Airport.
