KIX / ITAMI / KOBE Traffic Report for August 2025

The number of foreign and Japanese passengers at Kansai International Airport (KIX) reached 119% and 118% year-on-year respectively, significantly surpassing last year's figures. As a result, KIX set a new alltime record for both total international passenger numbers*1, at 2.55 million, and total passenger numbers*2, at 3.17 million.

Domestic passenger traffic across the three airports combined totaled 2.55 million, representing 106% of last year’s level.

Record highs were also achieved in several categories of air traffic movements: total movements at the three airports, total movements at KIX, international aircraft movements at KIX, and international passenger aircraft movements at KIX.

International cargo air traffic movements and cargo handling volume reached 103% and 105% year-on-year respectively, both exceeding last year’s results.
