
Mangaluru Airport records steady H1 in FY26, facilitates 1.24 Mn flyers

Key highlights on H1 FY26:
• Mangaluru International Airport recorded over 1.24 million passengers in H1 FY 2025-26.
• Set a record second highest single-day passenger traffic of 8,103 passengers on 12 April 2025.
• Recorded 9,245 Air Traffic Movements (ATMs).
• Top international destinations were Dubai & Abu Dhabi, and Bengaluru & Mumbai for domestic routes.
Mangaluru International Airport (IXE), managed by Mangaluru International Airport Ltd, delivered a steady performance in the first half of FY 2025-26, recording over 1.24 million passengers between April and September 2025, amidst a challenging global and domestic aviation environment.
The period also recorded the second highest single-day passenger traffic, facilitating 8,103 passengers on 12 April 2025. The airport has since surpassed this mark by handling 8,168 passengers on 1 October 2025. Despite disruptions due to global and regional events, the Airport sustained operational momentum and continued to uphold its role as the second busiest airport in Karnataka.
The Airport efficiently facilitated 9,245 Air Traffic Movements (ATMs) during the first half, marking a 16.20 percent increase over H1 FY 2024–25. During the half year, International ATMs at 2,218 recorded a growth of 14.32 percent, while domestic ATMs at 6,933 saw a growth of 17.70 percent. The airport also handled 94 General Aviation or chartered flight movements in the first six months.
The airport witnessed a significant rise in passenger traffic during the 2025 Dasara holiday season, underscoring the airport’s agility in managing peak travel periods for passengers travelling from the Airport. During this period, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi were the leading domestic destinations followed by Hyderabad and Chennai, while Dubai and Abu Dhabi emerged international destinations of choice for passengers.
