Newcastle Airport today celebrated a significant boost in regional connectivity as Jetstar’s inaugural Newcastle to Hobart service takes off, marking the first direct air link between the two cities and another major milestone in the airport’s expanding domestic network following the announcement of direct flights to Perth in May.

Mangaluru International Airport will enable connectivity to Mumbai with the operationalisation of India’s newest greenfield airport – Navi Mumbai International Airport from 25 December 2025. IndiGo will commence a daily direct service between Mangaluru and Navi Mumbai starting Christmas Day. With this, the Mangalore (IXE) – Mumbai (NMI) route will offer travellers the choice of five daily flights – four operated by IndiGo and the other by Air India Express.
The service is initially operating three times per week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays before increasing to four times a week during the peak holiday season starting on 14 December.
Within weeks of Newcastle Airport’s inaugural flight to Bali, Jetstar has responded to exceptionally high demand from across the Hunter region by adding a fourth weekly service to the route and enabling travellers to continue through to Singapore, creating a new international gateway for the Hunter, Central Coast and Mid North Coast.
