Thai Lion Air to Launch First Service Linking KIX to Bangkok

Kansai Airports today announced that Thailand-based budget carrier Thai Lion Air (SL) will start five weekly flights between Kansai International Airport (KIX) and Don Mueang, Bangkok, beginning Thursday, March 28, 2019. This will be the airline’s first service to KIX, its forth destination in Japan after Narita, Fukuoka, and Nagoya airports. The aircraft to be used is Boeing 737 MAX 9, the newest aircraft which Thai Lion Air introduced first in the world.


With this launch, the number of weekly flights between KIX and Don Mueang will reach 28 and further demand growth is expected between the two destinations.
Kansai Airports will continue to expand its global network including low-cost flights, providing more convenient and enjoyable options for all passengers.
