Philippines AirAsia to Launch First Service to Japan

  • 01 Apr 2019

Kansai Airports is delighted to announce that Philippines AirAsia will launch a daily flight between Kansai International Airport (KIX) and Manila beginning July 1, 2019.

The Manila-based low-cost carrier will be the third one in the AirAsia Group to serve KIX, and the airport will offer five routes with the group, the highest among airports in Japan. With this new service, the number of flights on the KIX - Manila route will total 32 a week (including connecting flights), making air travel to Manila more convenient and expanding its demand even further.

Manila, bustling with shopping malls, high-rise apartments and office buildings of international companies including Japanese ones, is the biggest city in the Republic of the Philippines. Home of the fast-growing Bonifacio Global City district, the city has been gaining a lot of attention worldwide for its great business potential and as a tourist destination.

Kansai Airports will continue to explore opportunities to expand its global network, including low-cost flights, providing passengers with more convenient and comfortable travel experiences.
