HKIAA and Elior Asia Holding sign MoU to provide aircraft mechanics training

  • 2025-06-19

HKIAA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Elior Asia Holdings Ltd, a subsidiary of Elior Group SA, on 18 June in Toulouse, France, to start providing aircraft mechanics training in Hong Kong.

The MoU was signed by HKIAA President Simon Li and Elior Asia Holdings Director Daniel Derichebourg, in the presence of the Honourable Jeffrey Lam, Member of the Legislative Council, Shirley Yung, Special Representative for Hong Kong Economic and Trade Affairs to the European Union and Janet Cheung, Chief Executive Officer of Elior Asia Holdings Ltd.

The arrangements set forth in the MoU serve to expedite the availability of training for aircraft mechanics, which includes expanding training curriculum and enabling students and practising mechanics to become skilled at assembling aircraft. The provisions under this MoU are in response to the arrangements previously highlighted during Hong Kong Financial Secretary’s Budget 2025/26 address, of developing Hong Kong into Asia’s first aircraft parts processing and trading centre.

HKIAA President Simon Li said, “We are pleased to collaborate with Elior Asia Holdings to bring about this very important initiative of aircraft mechanics training to Hong Kong. This is further affirmation that Hong Kong has the talent and capability of being a world-class civil aviation hub and the Academy is ready to contribute to this effort.”
