Hamad International Airport transforms into a global stage for Qatar’s national day
- 2025-12-20
Hamad International Airport (HIA) marked Qatar National Day through a multi-day cultural programme delivered in collaboration with Qatar Duty Free (QDF), bringing together Qatari cultural expression and local heritage for a uniquely global audience of international and transfer passengers.

At the heart of the celebrations, a cultural moment unfolded at the airport’s iconic Lamp Bear art installation through a series of live concerts presented under the Qatar National Day theme “With you, it rises. From you, it awaits.” The performances took place during peak operating hours, with coordinated efforts to maintain security, airport operations, and passenger services, ensuring the experience is integrated seamlessly into the flow of travel.

Led by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, the concerts allowed passengers and visitors to encounter the performances while on the move. The programme featured Qatari compositions, including a live performance of the Qatar National Anthem, alongside globally recognised works with traditional influences, reflecting the airport’s role as a point of cultural connection.
The performances brought symphonic excellence into the heart of the terminal, positioning one of the world’s busiest global gateways as a platform for national expression and artistic exchange. The cultural showcase combined music and poetry, with vocal performances by Aisha Al-Ziani and a poetry rendition by Hamad Al Beraidi.

As part of the wider Qatar National Day celebrations across the airport, Qatar Duty Free activated Souq Al Matar in the North Plaza with immersive cultural experiences. Passengers engaged with traditional crafts, falconry displays, Ardah performances, and live cultural demonstrations, complementing the concert programme and extending the celebration across the terminal.
The program reinforced Hamad International Airport’s position as a global gateway where national culture is actively experienced and shared with the world.
