
Global mapping of Macau: Exhibition of Macau city & Harbor" opens at Macau International Airport to enrich the cultural and artistic experience

To further promote Chinese and Western cultural history of Macau to global passengers, Macau International Airport (MIA) and Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) Library co-organized the "Global Mapping of Macau: Exhibition of Macau City & Harbor" and the opening ceremony was held at 3pm on 4th August 2026 in the restricted area of Departure Hall in the airport.
Mr. Chong Cheok Ip - Acting Director of the Macau Government Tourism Office, Mr. Loi Weng Kun - Acting Head of the Department of Cultural Heritage of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Ms. Xiao Long - University Librarian of MUST, Mr. Gary Geng - Director of Airport Operations Department and Ms. Vicki Mou - Director of Branding Promotion and Corporate Communication Department of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) were invited to unveil the exhibition together.
The exhibition features over 20 maps of Macau from worldwide through a cartographic perspective, using lines, symbols, colours and text to present the development history and cultural transmission of Macau as a harbor city. It also offers a comprehensive view of Macau's historical evolution and dynamic transformation, showcasing its profound connection with the motherland and its key role in international trade and cultural exchange.
The exhibition runs from now until October 2026. MIA aims to integrate art and culture into public spaces through this collaboration, actively promoting local cultural and artistic development. Passengers worldwide can appreciate the artwork before boarding and experience the unique charm of Macau's history through visual arts.
