Gimpo International Airport Achieves ACI Airport Health Accreditation

  • 23 Oct 2020

Gimpo International Airport, operated by Korea Airports Corporation (President and CEO, Chang Wan SON) received Airport Health Accreditation Certificate from the Airports Council International (ACI).

The ACI Airport Health Accreditation Programme was introduced in July 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, to recognize airports around the world by assessing airport health measures with a questionnaire of 122 items in 10 airport operational fields, covering passenger and staff protection, airport facility and process.

Gimpo International Airport was acknowledged for outstanding operational process aligned with recommended health measures established by ACI and the International Civil Aviation Organization(ICAO) to provide safe airport experience for all travelers.

"This accreditation demonstrates international accomplishment of K-quarantine solutions led by the Korean government with preemptive health measures and policies, which has been actively engaged and followed by its people," says Chang Wan SON, President and CEO of Korea Airport Corporation. He also added, "Our Domestic and International Airports including Gimhae, Jeju, Daegu and Cheongju will also participate in the programme to work towards maintaining our airports safe and clean so that our passengers are reassured.
