Fiji Airports responds to Robinson R44 Helicopter Incident off Wailoaloa Beach

Fiji Airports confirms that a Robinson R44 helicopter was involved in an incident at approximately 5:23 pm today in waters off Wailoaloa Beach, near the Nadi Boat Club.

The helicopter had departed Nadi with one person on board and was en route to Denarau when it entered the sea.
The pilot was safely rescued and received immediate medical attention from a doctor at the scene.

Relevant emergency response agencies were activated and attended the incident site.

Fiji Airports is working closely with the aircraft operator and relevant authorities to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The incident has not impacted operations at Nadi International Airport.
