Fiji Airports has appointed leading global advisory firm Paxon Group as financial advisor to support its $2.5 billion capital works program through 2033.

Paxon’s engagement will involve rebuilding Fiji Airports’ financial model, assessing debt and equity capacity, developing a funding strategy, conducting scenario and stress testing, and delivering a comprehensive report, along with training for the Fiji Airports team.

The 12-week project ensures that Fiji Airports’ financial modelling, funding strategies, and risk assessments are integrated, credible, and ready for governance and lender scrutiny, supporting sound investment and operational decisions.

Fiji Airports Chief Executive, Mesake Nawari, said the partnership reflects the organisation’s commitment to global best practice in financial management.

“With a capital investment program of this scale, it is vital that Fiji Airports’ financial strategy is independently tested and future-ready. This engagement strengthens our ability to deliver world-class aviation infrastructure, underpinned by credible, transparent financial planning.”

He added that this financial discipline is not only about strengthening Fiji Airports’ governance framework, but also about ensuring the long-term resilience of the organisation.

“By doing so, the program will ensure Fiji Airports can continue to deliver safe, modern, and globally competitive aviation infrastructure that supports national growth and connectivity.”

The contract was formally signed by Michael Palassis, Executive Director of Paxon Group, with Director Paul Tilbrook attending the signing on behalf of Paxon recently at the Fiji Airports headquarters in Nadi.

Paxon Group, with its extensive global expertise and a strong track record in infrastructure projects across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East, brings a wealth of knowledge to this strategic partnership.

With over 60 specialist advisers across offices in Australia, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, Paxon is a market leader in developing innovative transaction structures that not only attract third-party capital but also deliver long-term value, ensuring a secure future for Fiji Airports.
