Earthquake Drill to be held at ITAMI

Kansai Airports is delighted to announce that it will carry out an earthquake drill at Osaka International Airport (ITAMI) on November 16, 2023.

 

This drill is to raise the disaster awareness and improve disaster response capability of airport employees by confirming appropriate initial responses in the event of an earthquake in cooperation with related organizations based on Kansai Airports' Earthquake & Tsunami BCP, under the assumption that a huge Nankai Trough earthquake (intensity 6) occurs during the daytime on a weekday.

 

Kansai Airports will continue to strive for securing a safe traveling environment for all airport guests.

 

Date/Time: November 16, 2023 from 14:00 to 15:30

Location:

- Terminals in Osaka International Airport, including the restricted area

- The first floor of the Osaka Monorail station

Organizers: ITAMI Terminal Fire & Disaster Management Association ITAMI Joint Crisis Management

Group Participants: 60 organizations (ITAMI Terminal Fire & Disaster Management Association, Kansai Airports, Kansai Airports Operation Services and other offices and tenants)

Scenario: A Nankai Trough mega-quake occurs during the daytime of a weekday (Japanese seismic intensity 6 lower)

Program: 1. Communication 2. Shakeout exercise 3. Evacuation guidance 4. Assisting the physically disabled
