Airport operations remained stable and steadily progressed, several major infrastructure projects including the MIA Expansion & Reclamation Project and the Hengqin Upstream Cargo Terminal Project are steadily advancing. These efforts injected new momentum into aviation logistics in the Guangdong-Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Meanwhile, through smart technologies and enhancements from the passenger experience perspective, services were upgraded and optimized to further improve operational efficiency, while diversifying shopping, dining, and relaxation options to create a more premium and convenient travel experience for passengers.
Macau International Airport handled over 7.52 million passengers and nearly 58,000 aircraft movements, representing slight declines of 1.6% and 2.9% year-on-year, respectively. Cargo volume exceeded 109,000 tons, marking approximately 1% growth compared to the previous year while business aviation movements reached 1,165, marked 2% yearly growth. Total revenue for 2025 is estimated at around MOP 1.35 billion, down 8.5% from last year.

In 2026, more new airlines will join Macau and a number of airlines added flight frequencies to existing destinations. The core project in the Macau International Airport Development Plan - MIA Expansion & Reclamation Project progressed steadily in 2025, including the construction of temporary dykes and backfilling, piling foundation works for the material delivery conveyor belt, work near the taxiway bridges carried out at operation suspension during night time, and environmental and flood prevention monitoring in accordance with the established plan. Plans are in place to implement night time flight suspensions starting from Q4 2026 to advance the reclamation and expansion of the runway island and apron, as well as construct a new taxiway bridge, while simultaneously planning runway repair and improvement works. The construction of Macau International Airport Hengqin Upstream Cargo Terminal Project is advancing comprehensively, expected to complete acceptance testing on schedule by the end of 2026 and commence operations in the first half of 2027. CAM continues to deepen collaboration with relevant parties to promote the development of an international air cargo hub on the west bank of the Pearl River in Macau.
Regarding improvements to terminal facilities and services, infrastructure optimization was carried out in an orderly manner in 2025, primarily including hardware upgrades to smart security channels integrated with biometric recognition and trusted digital identity technologies to enhance security efficiency and experience. As the first overseas user of the National Traffic Flow Management System, Macau International Airport achieved a transformative shift from "manual coordination" to "system collaboration", with on-time flight performance steadily improving. In terms of optimizing the travel experience, the signage system will be fully upgraded and the commercial area will be renovated, including the food kiosk in the restricted area of the north extension of the terminal, which is expected to open in Q2 2026, bringing a brand-new experience to travellers. The Airport has actively integrated regional transport resources with three major hub service centers set up in 2025 to promote regional connectivity and the benefits of "Flying via Macau," while offering convenient flight information, ticketing, and immigration assistance. In the future, it is strived to launch more multi-modal transportation ports, as well as service upgrade will be proceeded in 2026 to meet the travel demand of passengers.
