Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID) secured regional support for action on airport and airspace capacity, modernising airport slot policies and strengthening climate resilience at the 61st ICAO Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for the Asia and Pacific Regions, held in Kuala Lumpur from 7 to 11 September 2026.
KL International Airport (KLIA) and Langkawi International Airport (LGK retained their positions as the world’s best airports by achieving perfect scores of 5.00 respectively in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey for Q3 2022. Both airports had attained the same top spot in Q2 2022. For Q3, KLIA shared the achievement in the over 40 million passengers per annum (mppa) category alongside eight other airports. Meanwhile, LGK was the only airport in its category of 2–5 mppa to score full points in the survey. ASQ is a global survey by Airports Council International (ACI) that measures overall passenger satisfaction for terminal safety, facilities, services, and cleanliness.

Vivian Cheung, currently Executive Director, Airport Operations, will be appointed as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Continuing its endeavor to improve passenger amenities, Mangaluru International Airport on November 23 opened the international arrival hall at the new integrated terminal building (NITB) for passenger use. Flight IX 814 was the first flight to dock with the aerobridge at stand 6. Passengers used the aerobridge to reach the first floor of the hall and collected their luggage from baggage belt 5 on the ground floor.
