Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), the trade association representing over 600 airports, made strong recommendations at the 60th ICAO Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for Asia and Pacific regions in Sendai, Japan recently. The Members of the Conference endorsed the ACI APAC & MID’s recommendations and encouraged States to take appropriate steps for implementation.

Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) facilitated the inbound handling of areca nut (Areca catechu), a tropical crop at its integrated cargo terminal (ICT) earlier in January 2024. The red variety of areca nut weighing 1519kgs in 60 bags was ferried as belly air cargo from Agartala to this coastal city. Amman, January 2023: Airport International Group announced that Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) - for the first time in its history - welcomed 9,201,269 passengers (PAX) in 2023, registering a 17.4% increase against 2022 figures. Throughout the same period, QAIA handled 77,696 aircraft movements (ACM) and 67,366 tons of cargo, 13.7% and 9.9% higher, respectively, than the previous year.
