The study points out that younger travelers are now driving spend, while passenger behaviour, rather than sheer traffic volumes, has become the defining factor of airport travel retail performance.

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) today released Hong Kong International Airport’s (HKIA) air traffic statistics for July 2024. During the month, HKIA handled around 4.8 million passengers, representing a 24.7% year-on-year growth, while cargo throughput was up 14.6% to 414,000 tonnes in July.
