Airports across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East are preparing for nearly 7% annual air travel growth over the next 25 years. To support sustainable development, the 2nd ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East Regional Assembly in New Delhi adopted a resolution promoting the optimisation of current capacity and the expansion of new infrastructure.

The Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (KIAB or BLR Airport) recorded an impressive passenger numbers recovery of 82% since CY 2019 (pre-Covid year), with a total of 27.50M passengers travelling through BLR Airport in CY 2022. This included 85% recovery in the domestic (DOM) sector and 65% recovery in the international (INT) sector.

More than 3 million pass through BNE in December & January
It is the Chinese New Year Holiday from January 21 to 27, 2023. In these seven days, both Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Hongqiao International Airport accommodated 10,681 flights, increased 17.3% compared to the same period of 2022 and recovering to 70% of the movements in the same period of 2019. Passenger volume of the two airports reached 1.35 million persons, up 74.5% year on year and returning to 60% of that in the same period of 2019.
Gold Coast Airport has marked its busiest summer holiday period in three years, topping off a momentous year with more than 5.7 million passengers travelling through the terminal during 2022.
Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) today released the 2022 traffic figures for Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). In 2022, HKIA handled a total of 5.7 million passengers, representing a year-on-year increase of 318.4%. Total cargo throughput and flight movements dropped by 16.4% and 4.2%, to 4.2 million tonnes and 138,700, respectively.
