Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), the leading trade association representing over 600 airports across 45 countries and territories, has contributed US$50,000 to Airlink, a disaster logistics non-profit organisation, to support humanitarian relief efforts in Myanmar following the recent devastating earthquake.
The 17th Meeting of ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Environment Committee was successfully convened in Kobe, Japan on 14-15 May 2023. The meeting was attended by over 35 environmental sustainability experts from airports and World business Partners in Asia-Pacific and Middle East region.
Airport security experts extensively deliberated on human resource challenges and cybersecurity threats at the 30th ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Aviation Security Committee (RASC) meeting held recently in Osaka, Japan. The meeting was attended by 35 security experts from airports in the region.
This guidance document lays out the project development process as a series of tasks namely; demand estimation, site selection, technology evaluation and plant design, financial viability assessment, selection of developer/supplier, plant construction, plant commissioning and operation & maintenance. Some project development activities may happen in parallel. It is up to the individual airports to oversee the activities and ensure they are coordinated and synchronised appropriately to achieve the desired outcome.
At the CAPA India Aviation Summit in New Delhi on the 22 March 2023, ACI Asia-Pacific DG Stefano Baronci delivered a key note address at the Summit.

ACI Asia-Pacific has added two new handbooks to its library of safety guidelines. The first is aimed at helping its members to set up procedures to determine when to scale down or shut down aerodrome operations during a thunderstorm and to resume operations afterwards. The second provides a methodology to estimate manning requirements for aerodrome operations. Both are available for free to ACI Asia-Pacific members.
